How this site is made, for the three people who will ask.
Hand-written HTML and one stylesheet. No framework, no build step. Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics, so I can see roughly how many people stop by. The pages are static files served from a small host, and the whole site is under a hundred kilobytes without the fonts.
Headings are set in Fraunces and body text in Archivo, with JetBrains Mono for dates and labels. The fonts are hosted here rather than loaded from a third party, which is why nothing on this site phones home.
The contour lines on the home page are four hand-drawn curves. They do not represent anywhere in particular, though people from the upstate will recognize the shape of a ridge.
There are no photos and no contact form on purpose. I like a quiet corner of the web, and I would rather be found through the work than through a search box.
The site respects your system's light or dark setting and needs no JavaScript to do it.
